Monks visit Cambridge Friends School
Cambridge Chronicle, November 24, 2004
Cambridge, MA (USA) -- Ten Tibetan monks from the Gaden Monastery in India spent the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Cambridge Friends School. They attended Quaker meeting for worship with the whole school and members of the school community, and closed the meeting with a chant for world peace.
Tibetan families with children at Cambridge Friends School were among the parents and guardians who gathered at a reception following the meeting.
The monks visited a third- and seventh-grade classroom before performing the Deer Dance, the Black Hat Dance and the Snow Lion Dance for the school.
Monks from the Gaden Monastery visited Cambridge Friends School five years ago on a previous world tour. They will be at the Buddhist Center of New England until Nov. 28.
