Buddha Exhibit Making Stop in mid-Michigan

WLNS, Aug 27, 2005

Lansing, Michigan (USA) -- A collection of sacred relics of the Buddha and other Buddhist masters are touring the world, making one stop in mid-Michigan.

Visitors viewed the pearl-like crystals, statues and other relics. The display at the VanHanh Temple on South Washington Avenue will be in Lansing until Sunday.

Carmen Straight, relic tour coordinator: "To have the opportunity to even walk around 1 of these holy monuments, you get kind of a special feeling, and you there's something very unique about that."

Organizers also say to view a relic is extremely rare, and once the tour finishes, they will be enshrined in a 500-foot statue.
