This event took place at the Buddhist International Temple and featured different ceremonies to celebrate the day.
Ceremonies included honoring elderly people over 65 years old and the 65th birthday of the Nobel Prize winner and Burma's Democracy leader.
Member of Burma Nationals' Buddhist Association, Khin Nyunt, tells us what this day really means to them.
"We believe each year to welcome the new year, we have to cleanse our body as well as our mind with pure water."
Nynut went on to say this is the first time this event has ever taken place in Bowling Green.
