Andy Johnson will spend three weeks over the Christmas break in Dehra Dun where he will teach physics of light and optics.

He is part of the Science for Monks project initiated by the Dalai Lama to introduce scientific knowledge and methods to Tibetan monks.

"This is an exciting opportunity to interact with members of a very different culture," said Johnson. "I look forward to helping the monks learn about the Western scientific view of nature, as well as learning from them."

Johnson has been a member of the BHSU faculty since 1999.
