Garden Grove Buddhist Temple Wins Round In Federal Court

NBC4 News, August 31, 2006

SANTA ANA, Calif. (USA) -- A federal judge has ruled a Vietnamese Buddhist temple can temporarily hold religious services at a Garden Grove medical building -- despite the city's objections over traffic and noise.

U.S. District Judge Cormac Carney asked both sides to forge an agreement by Friday on how the Buddhists can use the building they already own.

The ACLU filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Quan Am Temple, alleging city leaders had violated its constitutional rights by barring assemblies at the building.
