Buddhist monks arrive on Guam

Guam, USA -- Guam's Thai Community celebrated the arrival of two Buddhist monks at the Guam International Airport on Thursday night.

They'll live on Guam and will serve at a new Buddhist temple that is currently under renovation.

"Two years ago I lived in here, but right now... and group of Thai people here build a temple for us and we come to for live here."

Buddhist monks serve as officiants on ceremonial occasion, as well are responsible for preserving and conveying the teachings of Buddha.
