The centre is hosting its second annual celebration to commemorate the birthday of Buddha Shakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, who was born 563 BC.

The event is a chance for the centre to school newcomers about Buddha's story and experience a Buddhist ceremony. People of all faiths are welcome to take part.

Plus, there will be cake. The free event will take place Sunday, April 9 at 1 p.m. at the Interfaith Chapel at UVic. Donations are welcome.
